Essaouira: Ocean, Seafood & "Game of Thrones"

Format: Full Day Trip Season: Year-round (Ideal escape from the summer heat)
About the Program: Essaouira is a fortress city on the Atlantic coast. An ideal module for the middle of the program to "clear the head" and change the scenery. White walls, blue boats, and fresh ocean breeze create a contrast to hot Marrakech. The status of a "Game of Thrones" filming location adds media weight to the trip.

Stage 1. The Road & Argan

  • Transfer: Comfortable bus (2.5–3 hours).
  • Argan Cooperative (CSR): A stop at an argan oil production facility. An element of social responsibility and a chance to see a unique process that exists only in Morocco.

Stage 2. Astapor Fortress (Game of Thrones)

  • Skala de la Ville: A walk along the bastions with 18th-century cannons. This is where scenes for the city of Astapor were filmed (where Daenerys bought the Unsullied army). A recognizable location that engages the group.
  • Fishing Port: A lively photo zone. Blue wooden boats, nets, and the catch brought in straight from the trawlers.

Stage 3. Gastronomy (Seafood)

  • Lunch at the Port: A restaurant with a "Catch of the Day" concept. The freshest grilled fish, oysters, and shrimp.
  • Medina: Free time in the Old City. Wide streets, no motorcycles (pedestrian zone), and relaxed shopping in art galleries.

Important to Know (Agency Safety Box)

  • Wind: Essaouira is called the "Windy City." We recommend windbreakers even in summer.
  • Logistics: This is a Full Day tour. Departure at 08:30, return for dinner.
