Old Dubai: Quest in the Historic Al Seef District

Format: Active half-day module Season: October – May (Early morning only in heat)
About the Program: A program for those who want to see the "Other" Dubai — without glass and concrete. This is not a boring guided tour, but a gamified immersion into history. We turn the historic Al Seef district and Deira markets into a playground for a team quest. An excellent way to develop communication and see the true soul of the East.

Stage 1. Start in Al Seef

Immersion in History
The transfer brings the group to the historic Al Seef district on the shores of Dubai Creek. This is an atmospheric place with wind towers, narrow alleys, and the scent of spices. Here we divide the group into teams, hand out tablets or maps with tasks. A short briefing from moderators — and the game begins.

Stage 2. Active Game & Crossing

Artifact Hunt
Teams explore mud-brick buildings, search for architectural details, and solve riddles hidden in the labyrinths of the old city.
Abra Water Crossing
Part of the route passes across the Dubai Creek canal. Teams cross to the other bank on traditional wooden Abra boats. This is Dubai's oldest transport, adding authenticity and a bit of refreshment to the game.
Spice Souk Challenges
The quest finale takes place at the Spice Souk and Gold Souk. One of the tasks is to identify a specific spice by smell or bargain with a vendor to buy a souvenir for a minimum price. It is exciting and fun.

Stage 3. Lunch & Awards

Traditional Cuisine
Finish at a traditional Arabic restaurant on the waterfront. Menu: Large Arabic meze (hummus, fattoush, babaganoush), assorted hot kebabs, fresh bread from the oven, and sweets. We drink mint lemonade and Arabic coffee.
Game Finale
Score counting, winner announcement, and presentation of symbolic prizes (spice sets, Aladdin lamps).

Agency Safety Box (Important to Know)

  • Dress Code: The Old City is a conservative area. We instruct participants in advance about the need for modest clothing (covered shoulders and knees).
  • Weather: The activity takes place outdoors. In hot months, we conduct the quest early in the morning or at sunset.
